“Cleaning up & putting away snacks after the variety show, reminiscing about previous retreat years, listening to a 5th grader tell me about a play she & a friend are writing about Agent 14.”

The church retreat variety show is something to behold. 50% sincere, 50% cheesy, 50% lame, and 50% brilliant, I’d say its probably one of the best thing that happens to any group of people, ever. That’s 200 percent great.

Last year at the church retreat, my mom said there were like 8 kids who sang the cups song…in a row. My hope is that this year the same kids all sang Shake it off. Sure, its more complicated with more harmonies and instruments, but they’ve aged at least, like, a year by now so I figure step it up.
